The recipe for success contains lemons as well as honey...

The unfortunate and uncomfortable truth is that so many times, success hurts; it means working harder than we have ever done for less pay than we ever deserved while we fight to do something we love and believe in...
Too many "success gurus" and "Master Wizards" quote unrelenting positivity and mind bending "success strategies" that only serve to a population that wants success the easy way, without the pain, without the heartache and without the stress and fear...
To be successful you have to pay the price of admission - and you have to work at it in your own way - yes you need help on the journey, yes you need to learn and have belief...
But success is not about simply the acquisition of wealth and fortune, it's also about letting go and losing what you have currently by way of a trade for what is yet to come - if you are not prepared to lose, you are not deserving of the win...
Doing what I do - and having done what I and Lynn have done - I've learned a few lessons about success. It is my privilege to be on the journey with so many of my friends, colleagues and clients (they are one and the same...) and the REAL recipe for success can be described as follows...
Start fighting, losing and eating cheap baked beans; do things that you'd never think you would and meet people you never thought you could...
Is it worth it...?
YES...

Doing what I do - and having done what I and Lynn have done - I've learned a few lessons about success. It is my privilege to be on the journey with so many of my friends, colleagues and clients (they are one and the same...) and the REAL recipe for success can be described as follows...
- Do something you love and are good at - I love playing the drums but I'm not good enough to be the best in the world...
- Forget fancy cars, big TV's, pretty watches and mansion houses - you are not Kim Kardashian, you are a real person...
- Whatever you do be the best - add more value than you invoice and have more fun than you deserve...
- Ask for help - collaboration and sharing ideas and knowledge is the best way to succeed - even William Chase went to the USA for help...
- Prepare to lose - Kevin Keegan said that he had never lost a game; he'd just run out of time (you've got plenty of time...)
- Drop the ego - eating value baked beans on stale toast is good for you, I know a few food shelters if you need them too...
- Learn - read books, got to seminars and workshops every week, shake hands with lots of people and see who turns up...
- Money - comes as a consequence of adding value to others, not the other way round...
- Success - does not mean cash - it comes in different currencies for everyone and yours maybe time, travel or family...
- Stop avoiding the rocky path, stop procrastinating and giving your self permission to think and plan - get on with it...
- Have fun - having nothing to lose is the best feeling in the world, enjoy every day - and remember it's only a game...
- Be grateful for the opportunity to fail at something amazing - not everyone gets the chance to even try and be amazing...
Start fighting, losing and eating cheap baked beans; do things that you'd never think you would and meet people you never thought you could...
Is it worth it...?
YES...
