Now as many people hear health they think about their physical health-so to keep things simple I will keep this focused on just that our physical health.
Now as far as achieving a physical health that works for us we need to focus on two(2)
main ideas-calories in and calories out. Now before any "experts" and other professionals look at this and freak out-yes I know there is more to a successful program( which I will touch on in a bit)- but to get the main point across I am going to simplify it as much as possible.
CALORIES IN- is what we eat (or don't eat in some cases)
CALORIES OUT- is the amount and/or type of exercise or activity
Now as I have stated in the past everyone is different and has different likes, dislikes, different genes, different outlooks and beliefs, etc. With that said there are many-hundreds, thousands of different exercise programs, sports, techniques, strategies, diets, etc.-some mainstream, some not, some very effective, some not so much.
The first thing, I believe one needs to do, to utilize the best "Calories in" and do the most effective "Calories out" process that allows for success in one's physical health, is understand one's self. Take an inventory of likes, dislikes, what motivates you-internal or external motivators, how you do things, how do you look at things; how old are you-chronologically, physically, mentally; are you a glass half empty or half full type of person; are you a type A personality; what are you eating or not eating; how much are you eating are your choices and actions more effective or less effective by result ...what ever, but take a look, an honest look without judgment then look at an exercise program, sport, activity, technique, diet that would allow YOU the best opportunity for success.
In other words, if gyms intimidate the hell out of you and eating a kale only diet sounds a little restrictive but riding a bike and eating fruit excites you then chances are if you create a program around riding a bike and eating fruit your level of success in achieving your goals will be higher.
The other is to talk with someone, a professional-trainer, nutritionist, coach, doctor, psychologist, etc THAT YOU TRUST that has the education and or training in the area you need and want- Not some fly by night ad, or popular fad or popular media darling who was given a body by God and smiles pretty.
In other words use your head and choose with an educated, open, and realistic mind-pay attention to what your brain and your body are telling you and get rid of the ego-utilize well trained, trustworthy professionals and be effective not ineffective with the program, process, sport or activity you choose.
Remember,
YOU ARE THE DIFFERENCE!!!
