Interesting words these are- Regarded, understood and interpreted. I see them as very individualistic -meaning each person on the planet can and does have a different Regard, Understanding and Interpretation .
Some people say perception is reality. I disagree. Reality is very different than perception. Iv'e done quite a bit of team building and self awareness training and the place I did this had both high and low rope activities. One of the activities was a zip line. When people came to the course they would see the zip line ,look up and say-"that's cool, I wanna do that !" That was said standing with both feet planted solidly on the ground. You see the zip line was at the top of a fifty(50) foot tower. After getting harnessed up, walking up the many flights of stairs leading to the top of the tower, climbing out on a platform where they now were looking down at all the "tiny people", realizing the only thing supporting them was a harness and wire- the concept of perception and reality quickly became abundantly clear. This "shift" scared the living snot out of people.
It's not to say all perceptions are scary they are however always different. Not only different from person to person but from reality. Because we create our perceptions from our imagination- our mind- and how we understand and perceive is effected by feedback from our choices; our actions; our life experiences- and our life experiences are all different -our perceptions will be different.
Perceptions like health are not right or wrong or good or bad but effective or ineffective. They are also very personal! If perceptions are more open and complete this could help us grasp a better understanding of situations/life. Instead of just stating" that's cool"( and it could be), but include "it looks scary to" would be a more complete perception. This could help create a better understanding when we "stand on that platform".
In other words if we had a more accountable and responsible perception or understanding of what we are about to do or choose, or see or say, it would help us realize things are not as scary, and even if they are, we are better prepared to deal with that "scare".
Understanding our and other's perceptions and how we come about them can help us understand our reality and other's .
Remember...
YOU ARE THE DIFFERENCE!!!
